Privacy Policy

BeatDeck ("the App") is developed and operated as a personal project. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how it is used. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

When you use BeatDeck, we may collect the following:

• User ID — A unique identifier linked to your Apple account (via Sign in with Apple), used solely to associate your game scores with your profile. This is only collected if you choose to sign in.
• Display name — A username you choose when creating a profile. Displayed on the in-app leaderboard.
• Gameplay data — Game scores, correct placements, streaks, and challenge results. Used to power the global leaderboard.

BeatDeck does not collect:

• Your real name, email address, or Apple ID (Sign in with Apple gives us only an anonymous user token)
• Location data
• Device contacts or camera access beyond any QR card scanning you initiate
• Health or fitness data
• Browsing or search history
• Financial information

All data collected is used exclusively for app functionality:

• Storing and displaying your game scores on the global leaderboard
• Persisting your display name and colour preference across sessions
• Allowing you to view your own game history

We do not use your data for cross-app tracking, advertising, or analytics. NSPrivacyTracking is set to false in our privacy manifest.

BeatDeck uses the following third-party services:

• Supabase — Secure cloud database for storing profiles and game results. Data is stored in the EU (West Europe region). See Supabase's privacy policy.
• Apple Sign In— Optional authentication. Apple's privacy policy applies. We receive only an anonymous user identifier.
• iTunes Search API — Used to fetch song metadata and album art. No personal data is sent to Apple in these requests.

Your profile and game scores are stored as long as your account is active. To delete your account and all associated data, please contact us at support@beatdeckapp.com and we will remove your data within 30 days.

BeatDeck is rated 4+ on the App Store and is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. The optional sign-in and leaderboard features require an Apple ID, which itself has age requirements set by Apple.

You have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. To exercise these rights, email support@beatdeckapp.com.

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top will always reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
